Get to Know The Kickass Hostess

Helping you throw a party without losing your fucking mind.

At Kickass Hostess, I believe connection is a human need—not just a social nicety. In a world where screens have replaced conversations and hosting feels like a high-pressure performance, I'm here to bring back the magic of real gatherings. With easy-to-follow party plans, themed events, and a heavy dose of humor, I'll help you throw unforgettable parties without the stress.

Because fun shouldn’t be hard.

And connection shouldn’t be lost.

I believe every gathering—whether it’s a backyard brunch, a birthday blowout, or a fourth Sunday potluck—can be meaningful without being overwhelming. You don’t need fancy linens, a flawless house, or a spreadsheet of talking points. You need a little inspiration, a little preparation, and a lot of permission to be perfectly imperfect.

This is where the Kickass Hostess comes in:
With ready-to-go party kits, ridiculously helpful checklists, hilarious how-tos, and permission to not do everything yourself, we make entertaining doable—and dare we say, delightful.

Whether you’re a first-time host, a burned-out extrovert, or someone who just wants to see their people more often, you’re in the right place.

We’re not here to impress.
We’re here to connect.

Meet the Hostess with the Mostest

Hi, I'm JEssica Cline, your hostess extraordinaire.

I didn’t grow up as the life of the party.

Thanks to my dad’s job, I moved around a lot—five different schools by the time I hit middle school. In third grade, my mom told me I had to come home knowing someone’s full name... or else. (Let’s just say I took her seriously.)

Connection never came easy, but hosting gave me a way in. It gave me a role, a rhythm, and a reason to bring people together. I threw my parents' anniversary parties. I got a wok and a Chinese cookbook at age 12. My parents indulged me when it took 2 days to make one dinner. I even hosted a backyard costume wedding for my brother. Turns out, giving people a reason to gather is one of my favorite things in the world.

But this isn’t just about me—it’s about you and the moments you want to create.

Whether you're:

  • The social butterfly who doesn’t know where to start with planning
  • An introvert who feels more comfortable with a job to do
  • A husband who wants to make his wife’s 50th unforgettable
  • Or someone who just wants to throw a party that feels like you...

I’ve got you.

The Kickass Hostess is here to help you gather your people with less stress, more style, and a whole lot of fun. I share real-life tips, recipes, themed party kits, and practical planning tools to make your events feel personal, joyful, and beautifully doable.Hosting isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present.

It’s about creating space for connection—whether that’s over cocktails and cheese or coffee and cinnamon rolls. So come on in, grab a drink, and let’s throw a party worth remembering. May you have a day of laughter, connection, & all the good stuff.

The Reason we Party (Do we really need one?)

Your limbic brain — the ancient, emotional part of you — doesn’t give a damn about your to-do list, your email inbox, or your fucking standing desk. It wants hugs, belly laughs, and bad dance moves. It wants real, messy, sweaty human connection. Without it, you don’t just get lonely — you get sick, cranky, and old as fuck. Connection isn’t a cute extra. It’s a goddamn biological mandate.

(Seriously though, check out the facts below.)

Getting older is inevitable — but becoming a socialized, well-lived fossil is absolutely, gloriously optional. With Kickass Hostess parties, we feed our limbic brains what they crave most: love, friendship,

and shameless amounts of play.

Why we PLAN the party

The Kickass Hostess plans the party so you don’t redline your engines. When everything is last minute, you run around like a lunatic—mind racing, body overheating, stress maxed out.

But that’s not the point of a party.

YOU'RE throwing the party to connect, to have fun, to bring people together—not to lose your damn mind in the process. Planning keeps you cool, collected, and actually present for the good stuff. So let the Hostess kick some ass and do the planning for you!

Why (Regular) Socializing is Necessary

Our epidemic of loneliness and isolation

In May 2023, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy released an advisory titled “Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation,” highlighting the profound public health implications of social disconnection. The report reveals that approximately half of U.S. adults experience measurable levels of loneliness, with young adults particularly affected.

Loneliness and social isolation are linked to significant health risks, including:

  • A 29% increased risk of heart disease.
  • A 32% increased risk of stroke.
  • A 50% increased risk of developing dementia among older adults.

The mortality impact

The mortality impact of being socially disconnected is comparable to smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day and exceeds risks associated with obesity and physical inactivity.

The advisory identifies several societal trends contributing to increased loneliness, such as:

  • The decline in community participation.
  • The rise of digital technology altering social interactions.
  • Modern lifestyles that prioritize work over personal relationships.

Recommendations

To address this epidemic, the Surgeon General recommends strengthening social infrastructure by investing in community organizations and public spaces that promote social interaction. Well shit, we can do that, too.

The advisory emphasizes that combating loneliness requires a collective effort from individuals, communities, workplaces, and policymakers to foster a culture of connection and support.
